scrapbooking room

We have made remodeling one of our bedrooms into a scrapbooking room/office our winter project.It is going to be so nice. I havent scrapbooked in a long time because I dont want to drag everything out and then have to put it all away at the end of the day. If im not finished with what Im doing, in my room I could just walk away and then go back to it later. But if its in my dining room, where I would have to scrapbook now, I dont like leaving it out. Even though I havent scrapbooked in a long time I still keep buying and buying and buying. I have enough stuff to open a store. Anyone who knows me can tell you Im compulsive when it comes to buying scrapbooking supplies.But oh it is fun. Look at it this way. When my room is all done and I get it all finished I will have everything that I need. What fun it is going to be. I wasnt going to blog about this until my room was finished but decided to go ahead and then when it is done I will post again to show you the finished room. Here are a few pictures as we go along.

FOG

Well. Its here. The winter really has not been to bad this year and I was hoping we would be spared the fog, but no such luck.We have had a little up to now on some mornings but after the sun has come up it has disappeared. Until yesterday that is. The last two days we have been socked in. It is so dreary and depressing and I am hoping that it wont last to long. I remember when we have had it for 30 days straight but Im hoping that since its so late into January it wont last to long.I have also seen it alot worse than it is today but never the less I dont like it. Sorry about the complaining, but fog and wind are the two things I hate most about the weather.Here are a few pictures I took this morning.

Blackie the Cat

Well, I dont know if anyone will be interested in this but I felt like writing about it anyway. We got two little kittens last summer, and because we live out in the country and there are coyotes around we let them live on the back porch. They were just to little to be put outside to fend for themselves.I promised myself that I would never get attached to another animal because if something happens to them , its just to hard. Well, I got attached.Especially after I backed out of the garage and ran over Blackie. He ran into the porch and seemed to be fine. He limped around for a day or two but that was all. That was two and a half months ago.We babied him and his sister, let them come into the house all the time,laughed at them, loved them and were really happy they were around. We woke up Tuesday morning and Blackie was dead. What a shock. They had been in the house the night before wrestling and playing and seemed fine. His sister seems lost without him. We are letting her in the house alot so shes not alone. Needless to say if anything happens to her im done with the pets. Its heart wrenching, and I dont want to go through it again. Here is a picture of Blackie when we first got him. Hes hard to see but is right behind the sunflowers.

THE jensen get together

On December 27th my sisters boys had their annual holiday get together. My sister passed away in 1995 but her sons have kept the tradition going.That is one thing she loved and counted on, was getting the whole family together at Christmas.One of the boys hosts the party every year, and this year it was her next to the youngest son, Max. My brother and I were invited this year, and it was really nice to see everyone. Some of the kids I hadnt seen in years and some of them have kids I have never met.We had a great meal and alot of catching up on family happenings.Here is a picture of my nephews and me and my brother.Someone said we looked like a bunch of hillbillies but thats okay. Their my family and I love them.

The New Year

Today, is the first day of the new year,2009.Its hard to believe how fast the year sped by.I look back on it now and think,where in the world did all of the time go.Our year had some very stressful times,some really great times, but most of all, something that I am so grateful for, my family was healthy.It really means alot to have your kids and grandkids close and to know they are healthy. All of the other bumps in the road can be gotton through and most of the time your better off for having gone through it.Our granddaughter got married so we have an addition to the family.And a great addition he is. We all like him very much an know that he makes our granddaughter very happy.Im hoping the new year will be full of love, family, good health, and prosperity for everyone. Happy New Year.
