TRIP DOWN THE COAST!!!

We left Jefferson Oregon early on Thursday morning. We went back over to Lincoln City so that we could drive down the coast on Hwy 101 all the way to San Francisco. Brandi had never been down the coast so we had a lot of beautiful country to show her. We stopped and did some shopping along the way and stopped a couple of times to play on the beach and hunt for sea shells. We also walked up to a lighthouse. It was cool to see and the view from there was beautiful. Of course vthe whole trip down the coast is beautiful.
The first day we made it to Eureka, California where we spent the night. The next morning we left knowing we werent to far from the Redwood Forest. Of coarse you cant go there without going to see the drive through tree.
Later that day we made it to San Francisco. We crossed the Golden Gate Bridge and then went to Fishermans Wharf. We walked around there for a little while and took a few pictures. The place had really changed since we were there last time and it stunk like sewer so we didnt stay long. We crossed the Bay Bridge and headed toward Reno where we spent the night.
We left Reno early the next morning and headed towards Salt Lake. We got there about 3:00 where Eric met us to pick up Brandi and the baby and then we headed home. It was a fast trip but we saw a lot and really enjoyed having Brandi and our Grandbaby with us.

TRIP TO OREGON

Hanks sister moved from Washington to Oregon about a year and a half ago and we had not been up there to see her new home. We decided we should go up before we got our garden planted so we went around the first of May. Brandi and Eric came down the week before we were leaving and we were telling them that we were going. Brandi said how she would love to go to Oregon, that it was one of the places she would really like to see, so we invited her and our Great Grandson to go. To our surprise and delight she said yes. We were so excited. It was a week that I will treasure forever. It was a long trip and we did a lot of driving but our little man could not have been better. He has got to be the best little boy in the world. This is how he liked to set in his car seat.
Hes just chillin and enjoying the ride. I dont know what he had been eating in the second picture, but it must have been good. We left on a Sunday morning and got up there about 2:00 pm on Monday. It was good to get there. The new home is beautiful. That night we went to McGraths for dinner. The next day we went to a Winery for some wine tasting. I am not a wine drinker so I didnt taste any wine, but we ordered a cheese plate and some sandwiches with wild mushrooms that were delicious.
Later that afternoon Aiden was taking a walk around the back yard with his Great Aunt Rose when she said he pointed to her flowers and said Mama. So she helped him pick some to take to his Mama. Isnt that just the sweetest thing.
He decided he should smell the flowers.
That evening for dinner, Rose fixed steak, lobster, and fried oysters. It was a meal fit for a King. The next day we decided to take a ride down to Lincoln City which is right on the coast. We stopped about half way there at a Casino for their breakfast buffet. It was delicious. When we got to Lincoln City we went to another Casino that is right on the Ocean. We went into the resturant there and ordered drinks and then Brandi and I went downstairs and tried our hand at 21. Brandi had quite a few firsts on this trip. She ended up winning some money and was pretty happy. That evening we went back to the house and just chilled and did some visiting since we were leaving the next morning. Here are a few more pictures and then in a few days I will post about the trip down the coast.
Isnt our little guy adorable?

WHATS BEEN HAPPENING

It has been awhile since I posted so I will try to get caughtup. Toward the end of Feburary I went to Nevada again with Penny. She was taking a lady that she worked with to meet her cousin so that she could fly back to Mexico. We spent the night in Winnemucca and then came back home the next day. It was a long but fast trip. As we came home from Wendover Penny stopped and tried to write her name in the salt flats but found out it was hard to do.
In March, we went to the scrapbook expo. We spent Friday there and Brandi and the baby met us. Seeing them was the highlight of the day. Of coarse we met all the other girls there and went to the Olive Garden for dinner.
The next day Penny and I spent the morning before heading home at the new City Creek Mall. It had just opened the day before. It is really nice. We had alot of fun browsing through all of the new stores. Penny did some shopping at the Disney store for her Grandkids.
A couple of weeks ago, Hank and I went to Winnemucca to visit with his Nephew and his wife. We stayed with them from Wednesday to Sunday. We had a great trip but I didnt get any pictures taken. That is what has been happening and hopefully I wont wait as long to post this next time.

Trip to Arizona

On the 2nd of Feburary we went back down to Arizona to see my Brother and sister-in-law and to go to a gourd festival. We got there the day before so that we could get in a little bit if visiting. I would have liked to stay longer but its really hard to get my husband to set still for very long. Maybe next time I will have to leave my husband home.....My nephew and his family were going to come down to, but at the last minute werent able to. I hope my brother and sister-in-law know how much I love them and thank them for showing us such a good time. Hopefully they are going to come up here this summer to see us. The gourd festival was great. I filled my whole trunk full of differnt sized gourds. There were food venders, and venders for anything pretaining to gourds. It was fun and I think that next year I might get a booth there. We saw a lot of beautiful gourds but none quite like the ones I do. Here is a picture of the gourds that I carve and a knife that my husband made. These next pictures are of some of the venders there.

The Month of January

I took a couple of little trips in January. My husband has been wanting a rock saw He makes arrowheads so he wanted a saw that he can cut slabs of obsidian. There was a rock and gem show in Quartzside Arizona so we decided to go. On the way down we spent the night in Las Vegas. Of coarse we cant just go through that city. We stayed at the New Orleans. Its a couple blocks off the strip but we had gone there for dinner a couple of times, so we decided to stay there this time. We really had a nice room.

The next morning we got up early and headed to quartzside. We got there fairly early and spent the rest of the day looking at all the booths. Hank found his saw and I got a couple of beautiful necklaces. We spent that night in Prescott Arizona and then came on home the next day. A couple of weeks later I was invited to go with my friend Penny to Saint George. She was doing a marathon. This is Penny before the race started. After she finished the marathon we headed for Vegas and spent the night there. We had a blast. She had been past Vegas before but had never been on the strip or spent the night there. We had a blast checking everything out. She had to be back to work Monday morning so we got up the next morning and headed home. It was a fast trip but sure a lot of fun.

CHRISTMAS DAY

I know I am a little slow. We had a wonderful Christmas day. All of the kids were here. Our daughter and her boys came down and spent the night Christmas eve, and then Brandi and Eric and our great grandbaby came down early Christmas morning for our traditional big breakfast. After breakfast and the dishes were all done we opened presents.I think our grandkids had a good day. I know I sure did. I got a Kindle Fire and love it. This is what we got our great grandbaby for Christmas.
He wont be able to ride it for awhile but we couldnt resist. He was spoiled rotton but I say that is what grandkids are for. He got some cute things from his Grammy but one thing he really liked was this He kept giving it big hugs. We had a good day but I am glad its over with for another year.

OH CHRISTMAS TREE!!!!

We had a great Thanksgiving week-end. The Grandkids were in Salt Lake for Thanksgiving but were home on saturday. We were able to get every one together this year to go get trees. It was the first time our Grandbaby had walked in the snow and he had fun. Of coarse Brandi and Eric and me and Hank found our trees right off the bat. Jamie was the hold out for the perfect tree and by being patient she found a beauty. Brandi and I were both jealous but if anyone deserves a perfect tree, its my daughter. I even had help decorating my tree this year. I really appreciated it kids.

After the kids got the tree decorated my Grandson and Great Grandbaby are admiring it.
