OH CHRISTMAS TREE!!!!

We had a great Thanksgiving week-end. The Grandkids were in Salt Lake for Thanksgiving but were home on saturday. We were able to get every one together this year to go get trees. It was the first time our Grandbaby had walked in the snow and he had fun. Of coarse Brandi and Eric and me and Hank found our trees right off the bat. Jamie was the hold out for the perfect tree and by being patient she found a beauty. Brandi and I were both jealous but if anyone deserves a perfect tree, its my daughter. I even had help decorating my tree this year. I really appreciated it kids.

After the kids got the tree decorated my Grandson and Great Grandbaby are admiring it.

A Couple of Little Trips

Back in October we went to Albuquerque to see the Balloon Festival. By the time we got to Moab, it was raining and rained on us the rest of the way there. We should have known what would happen, but we went anyway. The two days that we were there the festival was canceled and we didnt get to see one balloon go up. We did some shopping at Old Town, Sportsman Warehouse and Sams Club. Of course we did go to Sandia Casino for their breakfast buffet. The only balloon we saw was in the hotel lobby. The first of November, we invited my brother that lives here and his wife to go with us to Arizona to see our oldest brother who moved there in May. This was the first time we had been down to see him since he moved.Their home is beautiful and I was envious of the weather. We set out on the patio and really enjoyed the sunshine. Of course thats why we waited until November to go. Any thing earlier than that would have been to hot. Here are some pictures of all of us and their new home.

A lot of hard work

As soon as we got back from our vacation we tore right into removing the old tile from our kitchen and dining room. We had the old tile for 15 years and it just didnt look good after we remodeled our kitchen. It was alot of hard work but I absolutly love it now that its finished. It seemed like it took us alot longer but then again we are getting older and I guess slowing down in our old age. Hank did a great job, but then again I have always said that there isnt anything that he cant do. I had pictures of us taking out the old tile but somehow they have disappeared. So until I can find them , this is what the finished product looks like.

The Highlight of my Trip

This may sound cheesy to some of you but to me what we did was so fun. We did the tour of Graceland.I was a teenagaer when Elvis first came on the scene and so like all little girls I thought he was the greatest. And I still think that today.I never ever thought I would see Graceland or anything else down that way , so when I knew we were coming home through Memphis, I knew what I wanted to do. Thank goodness Hank liked Elvis to. We did see him twice in concert. Once in Las Vegas and again at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake. This will be the last post about our trip. Im sure everyone else is bored about it but as I said. Graceland was the highlight of our trip. Here are a bunch of pictures.

Sorry about so many pictures but that was only a few of the hundreds we took.

NASHVILLE

On the third day of our trip we spent in Nashville. We went to the Grand Ole Opry but the next show wasnt until Friday and we werent going to be there. We did get to see the building and the grounds and did a little shopping. Then we went right down town. Saw Fort Nashbourough right on the river. We saw some cool old clubs. We walked up and down the streets and went into some cute little shops. We saw a paddle boat that had glambling on it. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed every minute of it.

some things we saw

On our trip we really saw some beautiful country. We covered ten states. On our way to the sale we went through Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, and then we spent most of our time in Tennesee. Everything was so green and pretty. Grass everywhere. No weeds like we have.On our way home we went through Arkansas, Oklahoma,Texas, New Mexico, and then home. This is the arch that is in Saint Lewis. We crossed the Missouri river, the Ohio river, and the Mississippi. I could not believe how big the Mississippi is. The Arkansas line is in the middle of the bridge as you were crossing the Mississippi. Kentucky was a pretty state but I think Tennessee was my favorite. It was really beautiful.
We saw a big fire in Arkansas and there are big crosses on the side of the road. We saw quite a few of them.
This is it for now. There will be more to come.

Longest Yard Sale In America

I dont know how many of you have heard of the Longest yard sale in America, but we have been hearing about it for a couple of years. Hank got laid off in July and we wanted to go somewhere so we decided to try it out this year. It starts in Gadsden Alabama and goes 647 miles to Hudson Michigan. It only lasts for 4 days so there is no way you can cover it all. We are not big yard salers but thought it would be fun and we could see some new country while doing it. We had planned on going to Gadsden and going north but on our way we stopped at a tourist information center and ran into some people from Kentucky who had done it before and were headed to Crossville Tennesee where they were going to start. We decided to do the same thing. The yard sale is on what they call the I27 Corridor. As we got off on our exit there was a resturant right there so we had breakfast and then started hitting the sales. They were set up all over on both sides of the road.
This was one of the guys selling all of his treasures We stopped at this old time store. They had about 40 people in their parking lot and all around the store selling. It was a fun time looking through the store.

The first day of the sale, we only made it 18 miles. The second day 20 miles. Its for sure you cant go to fast or you might miss something. There will be more to come about our trip on another day.
