Week-end in Vegas

This last week-end I went to Las Vegas with my Daughter and her friend Amy.We went to Salt Lake thursday night and spent the night at Amys.We left for Vegas Friday morning about 6:00am and were in Vegas by about 11:30 their time. They let us check-in at our hotel early. We werent sure the rooms were clean yet so we decided to go have some lunch. We went to Ceasars Palace and had lunch at Planet Hollywood. We then walked and checked out the Forum shops in Ceasars Palace. We decided to go back to our hotel and relax for a while and get cleaned up for the evening. When it was time for dinner, we drove farther down the strip and parked and walked just a little way to PF Changs for dinner. We had a delicious dinner but of course we ordered way more than we needed. We did more walking on the strip just seeing the sights.

Later on in the evening I tried some 21, my favorite thing to do in Nevada. I didnt win big but I didnt lose anything either. In order to win big you have to bet big and I am just not that brave but I sure had a lot of fun.Saturday we had a good breakfast and then kinda of chilled most of the day. We had tickets to a Donna Summers Concert in Primm Nevada at Buffalo Bills. Its a 45 minute drive from Vegas so we left a little early because the friend who got us free tickets and backstage passes wanted to take us to dinner. The concert was wonderful. She sang some of her old songs but also has a new album out and sang those songs as well. We had a great time and then after we got to go backstage and meet her and have our picture taken with her. They wouldnt let us use our own cameras tho, but took our picture and will downloiad it to our computers. They havent done it yet but when they do, I will post it then. Here are a few pictures of the concert.

After the concert we drove back to Vegas and spent the rest of the evening having fun. We left Vegas about 9:30 Sunday morning for home. We had a great week-end.

My Company

Last week, my Granddaughter and one of her friends came down to visit. I really look forward to them coming because with Brandi working its hard to see her when I go to town unless I want to go to where she works, but then she is busy and we dont really get to talk. They called me just before they got here so I walked down to Pelican Lake Cafe, better known as Pegs cafe to meet them. I used to own this cafe and ran it for 24 years. Its kind of nice to sit on the other side and let some one wait on me now.We had a good lunch and then came back up to the house to visit for a little while.Heather brought her baby with her and she is the cutest thing and getting to the age where they are so fun. Im already looking forward to the next time they come down.

The Rondevous!

Every year in Fort Bridger Wyo. they have a mountain man rondevous. My husband and son hadnt gone for a few years, so they decided to go this year on Saturday. Its really not my thing, but I decided to go with them this year.We went up through Manila, Mountain Home and then to Fort Bridger. We stopped at sheep creek to see of the Samon were running yet but they were not to be seen. We have seen them there a few times. We got to Fort Bridger just as things were really getting started. The people that follow these rondevous really get into what they are doing. Here are a few pictures.

We ran into my husbands nephew who we hadnt seen in years. It was great to see him. When we left for home we came back through Evanston, Heber and on home. We did stop in Roosevelt and our son treated us to Chinese food. All in all it was a good day because I got to spend it with my Guys.

Fun Day Shopping!

Yesterday I went with my daughter and her youngest son to buy school clothes. Tyler went camping with some friends so he gave his mom and brother permission to pick out his clothes.Hes really trusting isnt he? But he did get some really nice things since he is going into high school this year. He will be styling. Now as for Jacob, he got some really nice things to.Everything he got he picked out himself because if anyone knows just what they want, its him. I have come to the conclusion that Jacob is going to be a leader in what ever he decides to do for a living because he certainly knows his own mind. Defintely not a follower.I got a real kick out of some of the things he picked out and even teasing him didnt make him change his mind. When he showed some of the things to his grandfather he agreed with Jacob. Go figure. He got this Hot pink shirt. We saw these hot pink pants and told him he needed them to go with his shirt but he didnt go for that. Here hes looking at some cool shirts. After we got through shopping we went back to the train in Heber and had some lunch. After we got home he tried on one of his outfits and his purple shoes. I dont know if they will show up very well, but they are purple. I told you he knows his own mind.

One of my hobbies.

A few years ago, I took a class on carving gourds. It has been so much fun. Even though its time consuming I have really had a lot of fun. I have sold a couple and I have given alot of them away, and of course I have kept quite a few.The gourds that I am carving I grew in my garden a few years ago. You have to let them dry, clean the outer skin off from them aqnd then carve them. It takes about 3 days to completely finish one. These first pictures are one before I carved on, and then the finished product. Then the next pictures are ones I have done and kept.

More Babies

Well as you all know our cat had 6 kittens last April. We were going to take her in and have her fixed but when I called the vet he said we had to wait until she dried up from nursing her babies. As soon as the kittens were old enough we booted them outside, where they love being and we were going to keep momma in on the porch until we could get her in but one night she somehow got out and spent the night outside. Needless to say we now have 9 new kittens. She is a baby making machine. This time we are really going to have to be vigilent about keeping her in.We live out in the country and wanted the last batch of kittens because we dont want any mice but 9 more is a little bit much. Looks like we are going to be looking for some good homes that would love a cute cuddly little kitten.
